: there's mud and water everywhere. this is what we're seeing throughout several blocks in this daly city neighborhood. here here on lasaine and price street and police say that it appears a water main broke somewhere up the hill so the water has been gushing down flooding the streets. some cars have water going past their tires. we have some video a little bit earlier. let's bring that up. residents have been waking up. they tell me because of the sound of o hospitallers. they're -- helicopters. there are police out here, firefighters out here. and when residents walk outside and see this, a lot of them concerned. quite a few have been evacuated from their homes and last we heard, they were going to a nearby park. we have yet to speak with any of those people and are still trying to get updates from police and firefighters, but a a big mess clean up here. when we first arrived it looked like there was gushing water and at this point everything seems to be still. maybe they're getting things under control up the hill but we will get the latest information and get back to you shortly. >>>

begin this morning with the flooding in daly city where the clean up has begun. we have both nbc bay area's christie smith and bob redell redell with us. we start off with christie smith of the details and what happened. any clean up yet, christie? >> reporter: good morning. it has been a morning and a mess here in daly city. there are front loaders and vacuum trucks everywhere trying to deal with this mudslide. it started with a water pipe that broke off. i wanted to show you what it has done to the hillside this morning as a section came down bringing trees and debris right into the neighborhood. neighbors say it sounded like a storm. water rushing down the hillside along lusanne avenue carrying debris and trees trapping parked cars. it was just to the left of romero's home. >> i was not aware there was a tank up there. >> reporter: what do you think now that you know what happened? >> i'm guessing, you know, infrastructure might be getting old. >> reporter: the gap in the hillside shows where it came from. there is a 978,000 gallon water tank that was 3/4 full. >> it is an eight-i

van ness it will be busy shortly a city worker is trying to repair the signal box, he says the repairs are going to take hours maybe until noon. right now there is nobody out here directing traffic. we've heard horns and people getting a little upset with people who are not taking their time going through thin section. that began westbound 80, chp saw a driver who was speeding, weaving and nearly hitting construction workers then on to 15th, that's the video, the vehicle being chased jeep suv, hit a parked vehicle which hit a person on a bicycle. the person on the bike seriously injured, you see the damage, the rider taken to the hospital. again, serious injuries the vehicle being chased was going the wrong way down 15th street. now look at video from 17th and south van ness a short time ago. the crash took out the signal box here making this intersection uncontrolled. the vehicle stopped there, also knocked part of a streetlight down. the driver of the jeep taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. we were told that the driver is being charged with dui, hit-and-run, evading a polic

of milk. let's get to the news here at 30 rock in new york city. >>> we begin with general david petraeus and his sudden and unexpected resignation as director of the central intelligence agency on friday, citing an extramarital affair. kristen welker reports. >> reporter: according to a senior federal official and close friend of david petraeus, 37-year-old jill kelly complained to fbi agents about being harassed by ball la broadwell, david petraeus' biographer. a senior official says jill kelly is involved in wounded warrior fund raising in tampa. she is married. petraeus' downfall started when kelly complained to the fbi that she was receiving intimidating e-mails from broadwell. law enforcement and multiple u.s. officials tell nbc news those e-mails led to the discovery between others between general petraeus and broadwell and were indicative of an extramarital affair. >> my first reaction was disbelief. >> reporter: steven boylen is petraeus' former spokesperson. he has spoken to him twice this weekend and says his former boss is remorseful. >> he said he had an excellent job. and in

-mails sent to jill kelley were coming from. which cities, which hotels? and eventually discovered the name, paula broadwell fbi got access to her e-mail account and found she sent them. but they said her e-mail account also included what appeared to be suggestive e-mails from david petraeus, that first they wondered if somebody hacked into his private account. interviewed separately, both admitted their affair, officials say. broadwell, in late september, petraeus, in october, low-level documents were found on her computer. agents eventually determined she had proper access to them after reviewing all the evidence, the prosecutors determined no crimes were committed no leaking of classified information. no threat to national security. some say they, or at least president obama should have been told about the investigation while it was going on. >> once the fbi realized they were investigating the cia director, or they came within the scope, i believe at that time they had the absolute need to tell the president. not to protect david petraeus, but to protect the president >> reporter: but t
